Metwith

Business cards to Excel and your CRM

Scan the cards with your iPhone, then export everyone you met as one spreadsheet, with the event, your notes and the follow-up day. Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets open it; Salesforce, HubSpot and most CRMs import it.

Excel (CSV) export comes with Metwith Pro, one payment. vCards are free.

How to export

  1. Scan your cards: tap Scan cards on Home and point the camera at one card after another. Check anything marked Check.
  2. Open Settings, and under Your cards as a file, tap Excel (CSV).
  3. Send the file to yourself, save it to Files, or open it in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.
  4. Import it into your CRM, matching each column to a field.

What’s in the spreadsheet

ColumnWhat it holds
First name, Last name
TitleDott., Arch., Dr. and the like
Job title, Company
Mobile, Work phone, FaxEvery number on the card, by kind
EmailEvery address on the card
PECItalian certified email, kept apart from the others
Website, Address
VAT numberP.IVA, USt-IdNr., TVA, BTW, NIF and others
EventThe fair or conference where you met
Met onThe day you scanned the card
Note, TagsWhat you wrote down about the person
Follow upThe day you said you would write
In ContactsYes when the person is saved to your Contacts
MoreExtra lines from the card, like LinkedIn

The separator follows your region, a semicolon where numbers use a decimal comma (Italy, Germany, France and others), so Excel opens the file in columns.

Into Salesforce, HubSpot and other CRMs

Every CRM that imports a CSV file takes it: Salesforce’s Data Import Wizard, Import under Contacts in HubSpot, and the file import in Pipedrive, Zoho CRM and others. Match First name, Last name, Company, Email and Mobile to their fields, and Event, Note and Tags to a campaign, a note or a field of your own.

Free: vCards

Without Pro, every card exports as vCards (.vcf), which Contacts, Outlook, Google Contacts and most CRMs read. And each card you save is in your Contacts already.

What it doesn’t do

Metwith doesn’t sync with a CRM by itself, and has no team account: each iPhone exports its own file. If your company needs every card in Salesforce the moment it’s scanned, a scanner with a CRM connection fits better; CamCard and Covve offer one on their paid plans.

Questions

Is the export free?

vCards are free, always. Excel (CSV) comes with Metwith Pro, which is one payment.

Can I export one event?

The file holds every card. The Event column lets you keep one fair in Excel, or in your CRM's import.

Are accents and other scripts kept?

Yes. The file is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so Excel reads Marín, Müller and 佐藤 as they are.
